Coffee is on us, join us for Networking with over 25 chamber member for the first hour and then we will have a guest speaker Karen Anti from Palmer Public Schools talking about:
Do you remember what is was like trying to decide what do be when you grew up? Do you wish you could have sampled a job before spending 4 years of college (and lots of money) preparing for a career field? At Palmer High School, the School-to-Career program is open to Junior and Senior students as an elective. In place of a class, students may intern in a business, community, school, or healthcare setting. Students observe the supervisor and may work on projects or help with tasks. Through the internship, students work on functional (soft) skills and are exposed to professional settings. These experiences help students determine college and career goals. The School-to-Career program is growing and we are seeking local business to help mentor Palmer High School students. Karen Anti coordinates the program and may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
